She is also grateful for RoK’s aid package that is worth 300,000 USD which was handed over to the Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control. This helped alleviate the causes of the recent storms and flooding in the central region of Vietnam.

Ngan also highlighted that amidst the compound growth of COVID-19, the mutual economic partnership of the two countries were maintained resulting in stable figures on investment and trade.

The RoK stays the largest investor of Vietnam with approximately 9,000 valid projects amounting to 70.2 billion USD – currently ranks second in the ODA provision for trading and reception of workers from the country. She proposed that the two countries soon organize a mutual cooperation on economic dialogue at the Deputy Prime Minister level and inter-governmental committee for economic, scientific and technical collaboration. She also encouraged the facilitation of entry of Vietnam’s agri-products such as dragon fruit, pork and chicken meat, as well as mangoes in RoK’s market.

In acknowledgement to the labour exchange, Park said his country praised Vietnamese workers’ help to its local economic growth and is aiming to receive more workers coming from the country.

On the matter about international and regional forums, Ngan hailed the RoK’s New Southern Policy that emphasizes on fortifying the relations with ASEAN countries including Vietnam.
