There are several markets that you can go for groceries depending on your location. Make it a habit to haggle first before even buying an item.
Food stands and shops are scattered all over the country that it would be challenging to say no when you see a mouthwatering dish. Ready to go snacks and light meals cost 15,000 VND a piece.
The street stall milk tea and perhaps, a cup of coffee will cost between 15,000 VND and 30,000 VND. On the other hand, the ones from branded companies in the county cost 40,000-70,000 VND per cup.
While popular dishes such as Pho ranges from 35,000 VND to 50,000 VND. The famous Bánh mì that is composed of meat and pickled veggies are at 15,000 VND to 35,000 VND.
Now if you are someone who likes it fancy, you might want to stretch your eating out budget whilst in Vietnam. Due to import taxes, some Western restaurants are priced at par or sometimes higher than that of the Western countries.
Pizza, Indian curry, spaghetti and typical western dishes are at 100,000 – 150,000 VND. Steaks are usually imported all the way from Australia or New Zealand and can cost from 400,000+.
For a luxurious dining experience, expect to pay at least $100 or more for a meal paired with a quality tasting wine.
